Former DGP of Haryana and the retired IPS officer Sheel Madhur after hoisting the Flag on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of Independence Day at GAV International School in Gurugram said that Independence Day also connotes & assures people freedom from fear in all its forms &
manifestations.
However heinous crimes against women are on the increasecountrywide. He quoted the recent gruesome murder & rape of a PG trainee doctor on duty in a government-run hospital in Kolkata city. He expressed his anguish over the incident & batted for the security of women everywhere so that women can come out & move freely in society without fear, only we can say that we have attained freedom in the true sense of the term, as was the vision of our freedom fighters.
Madhur also said that all the state governments must create aspecial task force for monitoring & ensuring the prevention of such crimes & also fast & effective investigation of crimes against women which can
be named as " Crime Against Women Preventing & Investigating Task Force " which will be responsible for taking all steps possible to achieve its aim of taking preventive steps & conducting a fast investigation in the most professional way including monitoring their progress in courts.
He exhorted all citizens to come forward & contributetheir best in the March towards attaining the goals of independence in all walks of life. On the occasion apart from lots of excellent patrioticperformances by students the school MD Maneesha, Chairman Pradeep Kaushik and teachers motivated the children and meritorious students were also awarded.
