Renowned social activist Abha Jha of Delhi has been helping the widow mothers of Radhakund Vrindavan with her heart and soul. In the last several months, the kind of efforts she has put for the betterment of old abandoned widow mothers is really praiseworthy.
During the heatwave of May and June Month, she did the best of her effort to provide sharbat, thandai, and lemon water to 300 widow mothers of Radhakund Vrindavan in collaboration with the Hiranmoyee India Foundation. She sent messages to people she had contact with and involved them in this humanitarian work. Because of her effort, the Hiranmoyee India Foundation couldprovide thandai, lemon and sharbat to these widow mothers entire June month.
“These mothers were living in extreme heat. There was loadshedding for more than 12 hours and no water supply for several days. These mothers are living in small dingy room with no access to cold water and electricity. I visited their areas and it was in terrific condition. Then I decided to help them from the living inferno and started my work,” says Abha Jha.
“If Abha ji had not turned up here, we all would have died ofheatwave. Because of her we regularly got cold sharbat, lemon and lemon water, and fruits. We are all very grateful to her. May Radharani give her a long live and lots of blessings,” says Sunita Mandal, an 85 years old widow mother.
Pranab Saikia , Founder of Hiranmoyee India Foundation, also expressed his gratitude to Abha Jha for coming forward to help these widow mothers during these tough times. “ We were in a fix as most of our well-wishers and donors were out of Delhi NCR during the heatwave for vacation.
But Abha Jha ji came forward and helped these widow mothers on war footing. We are always grateful to Abha ji for helping these widow mothers,” said Pranab Saikia, Founder of Hiranmoyee India Foundation, Radhakund Vrindandan.
It is to be noted that recently she created history in thearena of Rotary Fund Raising on 26th April 2020, (during the coronavirus pandemic) by organising a unique auction program on Zoom of her hand-crafted Fashion jewellery of Humanity, specifically made by Aabha during the lockdown.
This Historic Electronic Auction was well covered by the international magazine Rotary News, Several TV Channels and National print media. Through this exemplary event with her team, she raised INR 33 lacs within 2 hours for the Rotary Foundation Polio Plus fund. Abha Jha is an extraordinarily talented woman of substanceand a senior Rotarian. She is a world-famous Polio activist and tirelessly
works for Polio Advocacy, building Rotary Public Image, and encouraging masses for blood donation.
She is the Winner ofthe Rotary International Polio Service Award 2019 and recipient of Pride of Mithila
– Mithila Bibhuti Sanman 2017 by then Lok Sabha Speaker Honourable Ms Sumitra Mahajan and Honourable Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi.
Her husband Anil Kumar is a Senior retired bureaucratGovernment of India. Blest with two lovely daughters Krushika and Spriha, she is also a good housewife and mother.
